Is Andrew Tate an Incel?
Some people call him the "king of toxic masculinity." Andrew Tate began his career as a kickboxer but truly rose to fame as an influencer in the "manosphere" community.
For those lucky enough not to know what that means, the manosphere is an interconnected online ecosystem of websites, forums, and social media channels focused on men's issues and male identity, often characterized by anti-feminist views, rigid gender roles, and discussions about sexual strategy and dominance over women.
Oh boy. That certainly sounds incel-adjacent at the very least. Tate himself has been accused of various forms of sexual violence and was even imprisoned for human trafficking. The list of accusations leveraged against Andrew Tate is, quite frankly, more extensive than we can adequately cover in one article. We’re talking about accusations that began in 2010, with the most recent having been leveraged in March of 2025.
To say that he is problematic would be a profound understatement. But is Andrew Tate an incel?
What is an Incel?
An incel is basically someone who blames women for not wanting to have sex with them. Maybe every frustrated teenage boy who has watched others around him pairing off without ever having a "turn" himself has experienced incel thoughts. They get frustrated and, naturally enough, want to blame someone else for the problem. It becomes a self-defeating cycle. Men want sex desperately. They become bitter when they aren’t having it. Their bitterness makes them incredibly unappealing to women. They continue not having sex.
There is a much less common variant of the incel experience called "Femcel." Probably unsurprisingly, men SEVERELY outnumber women in the world of involuntary celibacy.
Because this is a primarily web-based movement, there are loads of variations. "Blackpill" incels believe their situation is permanently hopeless due to genetic factors like appearance or height. "Redpill" followers think they can manipulate women through pickup techniques and alpha male behaviors. "MGTOW" (Men Going Their Own Way) claim to reject relationships with women entirely while still obsessing over them. "Looksmaxers" focus on physical self-improvement to increase their sexual market value.
Naturally, simply not having sex is not problematic. It's when bitterness, hatred, and a propensity for violence enter the equation that the incel movement becomes a problem. Does Andrew Tate check these boxes?
No. Andrew Tate is Not (Exactly) An Incel
The simplest way to disqualify someone from the category of incel is to determine if they are having consensual sex. Tate seems to at least have that much going for him. He has pretty consistently been associated with romantic partners for as long as he has been part of the public discourse. Incels don't have sex.
That said, there are strong indications that Andrew Tate has no respect for consent protocol. This last March, he was the subject of a lawsuit filed by a former partner who was rendered "unconscious concussive" by him during a session of erotic asphyxiation. In this case, the initial sexual contact was consensual. The hospitalization that ensued was not. The incel response to situations of this kind, unsurprisingly, is either to say that the woman is lying, or that it doesn't matter if she is telling the truth.
Andrew Tate Has United the Right And the Left
Now, all of that said, Andrew Tate has done an impressive job in doing what many people might find impossible in the modern political landscape. He's united the right and the left around a common hatred for him.
Incel culture trends in a far right direction, but even the most conservative of political commentators tend to view Tate with disdain. Here's Ben Shapiro commenting on his re-entry into the United States: "America does not need more self-proclaimed pimps and terror supporters with outstanding criminal allegations of sex trafficking and a history of pornographic distribution". Jordan Peterson calls him reprehensible. Charlie Kirk used the same word--though he went on to endorse some of his perspectives.
This rare political convergence highlights how Tate's brand of misogyny crosses traditional ideological boundaries. While conservative commentators might share some of Tate's critiques of modern gender dynamics, his explicit celebration of exploitation and alleged criminal behavior proves too extreme even for those who regularly rail against "feminism gone too far."
In a world where everyone seems to hate everyone else, most can at least seem to agree that Tate deserves even more than the average amount of disdain.
Don't Be Like Andrew Tate
Goodness gracious, no. Think what you will about masculinity or how a man should present himself in the world. Those views are personal decisions. But avoid Tate's bitterness. His divisiveness. Certainly, steer completely clear of his willingness to ignore consent boundaries.
Focus instead on healthy sexual encounters. It's hard to meet people--particularly when you've grown used to rejection. That doesn't mean you should immerse yourself more deeply in feelings of anger or frustration. Build confidence in yourself. Meet women. Put yourself out there, and accept the possibility of rejection. Success will come eventually, particularly if you are consistently looking for partners.
In the meantime, you can build confidence with ladies who will never reject you. At HeraHaven, our virtual partners will connect with you both emotionally and sexually. Talk about anything, and when you are ready, ask for any picture you can imagine. They will gladly oblige.
